International Sourcing Meetings for Denizli Home Textile Sector Cluster Project from Denizli Exporters Association

11 Project Companies and Over 100 Business Meetings

The Denizli Exporters Association organized B2B meetings with Croatian buyers between 14-17 February 2023 in Zagreb for home textile cluster projects.

Within the scope of the project, a delegation consisting of 21 representatives from 11 participant companies of “Denizli Home Textile Sector Cluster Projects”, conducted by Denizli Exporters Association with the support of Ministry of Trade, assembled B2B meetings with Croatian buyers and visited their firms.

On Tuesday, 15 February 2023, Josip Zaher, President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, and other chamber representatives visited the B2B program and met with Denizli Exports Association President, Hüseyin Memişoğlu, and offered their condolences for the disaster that occurred in our country. Commenting on the program, Mr. Zaher stated that such collaborations would contribute to increase of the import-export volume between the two countries and that continuity of such programs is essential.

Denizli Exporters Association President, Hüseyin Memişoğlu, evaluating the program, stated, "In 2022, Türkiye's exports to Croatia increased by 25%, reaching to $600 million. As Denizli, our exports to Croatia in 2022 increased by 45% to $18 million. Our prominent sectors are ready-to-wear with 30%, copper wire with 30%, machinery with 14%, and cable with a 12% market share."

President Memişoğlu, underlining that international sourcing meetings as one of the most important topics in 2023, expressed:

"As part of our Ministry's strategy for overseas countries, we have planned our missions for Japan at the end of this month, for Canada and the United States in March.

We value cooperations for providing sustainable export, protecting our existing markets and opening up to new ones. We follow current developments, and continue our efforts to increase our contribution to country by organizing face-to-face business meetings with buyers.

Before concluding my remarks, I hope that the B2B meetings and commercial contacts in Zagreb will provide benefits not only in the short term, but also in the medium and long term."
