DENİB Organizes Home Textile Sectoral Trade Delegation to the USA

Denizli Exporters Association (DENİB) is organizing a sectoral trade delegation for the home textiles industry in New York, USA, between March 16–21, 2025.

The delegation, organized by DENİB, includes 12 companies and 21 participants, B2B meetings with leading American buyers are scheduled for two days, March 18 and 19, 2025, in New York.

The mission commenced with a series of visits, which included DENİB President Hüseyin Memişoğlu and Vice President İbrahim Uzunoğlu.

A visit was made to the Türkevi Center, home to the Turkish Consulate General in New York, affiliated Trade Offices, and the Permanent Mission of Türkiye to the United Nations. During the visit, cooperation opportunities in the U.S. market were explored with the Turkish Consul General in New York, Muhittin Ahmet Yazal, and Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ahmet Yıldız, Turkish Trade Attachés Filiz Köseyener and Bilgehan Ramazan Caner were also present.

Commenting on the ongoing B2B meetings with U.S. buyers, DENİB President Hüseyin Memişoğlu stated:

“Denizli's exports to the USA reached 408.2 million dollars in 2024, marking a 2.1% increase compared to the previous year, when exports stood at approximately 400 million dollars. For the January 1 – March 17, 2025 period, our exports arised by 14,8% compared to the same period last year, totaling 92 million dollars. The USA continues to rank as the second-largest export market for Denizli on an annual basis.

In the textile and apparel sector, the USA is our second-largest market, with exports exceeding 200 million dollars. Since the beginning of the year, our textile and apparel exports to the USA have reached 42 million dollars, a 16.3% increase year-on-year.

I would also like to specifically mention towels. Denizli's total towel exports in 2024 stood at 412 million dollars, making us the national leader in this category. The USA accounts for over 30% of these exports. In 2024, towel exports to the USA increased by 6%, reaching 130 million dollars.

With our experience, success, and strength in the home textiles sector, I hope this Mission will help increase our global presence.”

Strengthening Our Brand Value with Turkish Towels

Highlighting the strong quality perception of Turkish towels in the U.S. market, DENİB President Hüseyin Memişoğlu added:

Emphasizing that the home textile sector—particularly Turkish towels—has a significant perception of quality in the U.S. market, DENIB President Hüseyin Memişoğlu stated:

“Through our Turkish Towels project, which we have been carrying out since 2015, we aim to preserve and further enhance the perception of quality associated with Turkish towels. In particular, we are undertaking initiatives to strengthen our brand value in order to ensure the sustainability of our towel exports to the U.S. market. In doing so, we aim to render our exports more value-added and sustainable.”

We aim for this delegation to accelerate our companies' entry into the U.S. market, identify potential export opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and generate new business opportunities. I extend my wishes to all participants towards a productive and successful mission.”
