DENİB Promotes the Home Textile Sector in the UK

Denizli Exporters Association (DENİB) organized an international B2B program for the home textile sector in London, UK, from June 25-28, 2024.

Within the scope of "Denizli Home Textile Cluster Project" carried out by DENİB with the support of the Ministry of Trade, a delegation of 18 people from 12 project member companies held B2B meetings with the leading buyers of UK in London.

In the event, approximately 190 B2B meetings were held with 36 buyer companies from the UK. During the international marketing program, wholesale and retail centers were also visited. DENİB President Hüseyin Memişoğlu stated his thoughts regarding the program:

“The UK is at the top of Denizli's export markets. In 2023, we exported products worth 519 million USD to the UK. The UK's share of our total exports stands at 12%. In the January-May period of 2024, our exports to the UK reached 227 million USD, with the share of total exports increased to 13%.

When we evaluate the textile-apparel sector exports of our province to the UK, we see that it amounted to 82 million dollars in 2023 and reached 31 million dollars in the first 5 months of 2024.

In terms of product categories, Denizli exports mostly outerwear, cotton bedclothes, home textile products, woven fabrics, baby clothing, underwear, and accessories like scarves, handkerchiefs, and socks to the UK.

In our highly competitive sector, the most effective way to build new business connections, understand the market, and explore potential export opportunities is through direct contact with overseas buyers. With this in mind, we are continuing with our international marketing programs in various sectors and countries throughout 2024.

As Denizli Exporters Association, we will continue to work throughout the rest of the year to increase our export figures, aware of our potential.”
